Exploring Excellence: Aston University's Top Ten Student Societies

In this article I have picked 10 societies which I believe are actively engaged and dedicated to student development.


At Aston University one of the most noteworthy aspects of university life is the flourishing choice of student societies that accommodate every interest and hobby. From the academic to the cultural, these societies allow time for students to bond, learn, and establish great memories. Out of the 79 societies at Aston, I have picked ten which I believe perform dedication and active commitment to student development. Join me as I explore the astonishing world of Aston University's student societies, delving into the diversity and utter enthusiasm that illustrates this exciting campus.

1.    Aston Exchange Society 

Introducing an active, newly established community at Aston University, the Aston Exchange Society’s mission is to unite all students, regardless of their background to create an inclusive community.  

This society extends a warm welcome to International, Exchange, Erasmus, and Aston students. 


  1. Aston Bright Futures Society 

This society works with outstanding companies across diverse industries, such as commercial, pharmaceutical, engineering, technology, and legal sectors. With a goal of orchestrating events featuring employer-led sessions and employability skill workshops. These events are designed to enhance your chances of connecting with some of the world's most prominent and innovative brands.  


3.    Aston Women in Business Society 

Imagine a community where empowered women unite to establish valuable connections with industry leaders, forging not only strong professional ties but also enduring friendships with fellow forward-thinking women of tomorrow. 


4.    Aston Entrepreneurs Club 

Aston Entrepreneurs Club stands as a student-led organization, offering a welcoming space for any student with a passion for entrepreneurship. Here, one can expand their network by connecting with fellow like-minded individuals, all while thriving in an environment that develops their professional and personal progression. 


5.    Sikh Society 

Aston Sikh Society stands as a prominent and highly accomplished Sikh organization within the United Kingdom. With a calendar of activities such as on-campus Kirtan sessions, regular informative talks, and enjoyable social gatherings. 


6.    Islamic society 

The Islamic society aspire to lead the way in promoting Muslim representation and empowerment. Addressing the religious and social requirements of our lively student community.  


7.    Hindu Society 

The Aston Hindu Society is dedicated to offering every member a distinctive opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness of Hindu culture during their university journey. With a mission to foster educational and spiritual connections, all the while promoting unity among individuals from diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. 


8.    Christian Union Society 

The Christian Union at Aston welcomes everyone to explore the Christian faith, regardless of their religious background or beliefs. Done by fostering a supportive and caring community of friends, united by our desire to live one’s life in alignment with the teachings of the Bible.

9.    Humanitarian Relief Society  

The primary objective of the Humanitarian Relief society is to raise global consciousness concerning human rights violations. They are dedicated to disseminating the inspiring accounts of activists and humanitarian workers who have effectively impacted these regions. 


10. Agricell Society 

Finally, another newly established society with an eager focus on the realms of cultivated, cellular agriculture, and alternative protein. Bringing forth prominent experts from academia, industry, and the policy sphere to dissect the scientific, social, and political hurdles intertwined with introducing innovative food products to the market.
